Doctor’s Cave beach is rich in history and was first open in 1906. Dr. Alexander James McCatty donated this small stretch of sand, which could only be only accessed through a cave, hence the beach’s name. The beach was founded as a bathing club near the seaside. The cave has since been destroyed by a hurricane, and the beach is no longer an exclusive bathing club, but a festive oceanfront location where there’s always a party atmosphere. There is an admission fee of $5(USD) for adults, $2.50(USD) for children age 12 and under, and the beach is open daily 8:30am until sunset.
